Electrical measurement Laboratory

KMA’s electrical measurement Laboratory through primary etalons provides traceability of electrical unit based on SI system. This laboratory provides calibration services for: calibration of electric multi-meters, multifunction calibrators, standard resistors, decode resistors, and voltmeters.

The calibration of electrical multi-meter can be done through two methods, the direct and retrieving in the electric unit, as:

Constant power generation from 22 mV to 1000 V
Constant power generation from 0.1 mA to 20 A
Alternative power generation from 0.7 V to 1000 V for frequencies from 40 Hz to 100 kHz
Alternative power generation from 10 mA to 20 A for frequencies from 40 Hz to 1kHz and
Generation resistance from Ω to 1GΩ.

Multifunction Calibrator Calibration is carried out in these generations:

Constant power generation from 0.01 V to 1000 V;
Constant power generation from 0.1 mA to 20 A;
Alternative Power generation from 0.7 V to 1000 V for frequencies from 40 Hz to 100 kHz;
Alternative Power generation from 10 mA to 20 A for frequencies from 40 Hz to 1kHz; and
Generation resistance from 1Ω to 1GΩ.

Calibration of standard resistors and resistor decade is carried out by generating of 1Ω to 1GΩ, while calibration of amperes pliers is carried out by generating 0.1 A up to 1000 A.

The laboratory, in order to carry out its main services is equipped with necessary measuring instruments, such as:

– Portable reference etalon PRS400.3;

– Portable reference source PRS400.3;

– Reference Multimeter, Fluke, Type 8508;

– Multifunction Calibrator testing, Fluke, type 5320;

– Fluke universal Calibrator Type 5520;

– Reference electrical etalon, Radian Research RD 33-234;

– Etalon for testing of electricity meters, Radian RD 31-222.

Traceability is provided through direct calibration of above mentioned instruments, which is carried out by a National Metrology institute, and which has stated CMC in BIPM KCDB to support calibration of electrical measuring instruments.
